Privacy Policy

1. Information You Give Us

• Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you include it, and your message. We use it to reply to you and keep it only as long as we need it for that conversation.
• Listing reports. When you use “Report a Problem” on a directory listing, we store the listing, the reason you chose, any details you type, and the time. We don’t ask for your name or email, so please don’t include personal information in the details.
• “Email me this list.” If you ask for your screener results by email, we use your email address, ZIP code, and screener answers only to build and send that one email through our email provider. We don’t save them or add you to any mailing list.

2. Information That Stays on Your Device

• Care options screener. Your answers are processed in your browser and kept in its session storage, so you can leave for a listing and come back to your results. They are cleared when you close the tab or choose Start over. They are never shared with any agency, attorney, or representative, and they only reach our servers if you ask us to email your list.
• Your last directory search. We save the ZIP code and search radius you last used in your browser’s local storage, so you don’t have to re-enter them on every page. It stays on your device. You can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
• When you search a directory, the ZIP code and radius are sent to our servers to run the search, as part of the page address. We don’t link searches to you.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records technical information about requests to the site, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to operate and secure the site and to prevent abuse, such as limiting repeated form submissions.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or tracking pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does.

4. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, only to run the site:

• Vercel, which hosts the website
• Supabase, which hosts the database behind the directories and listing reports
• Resend, which delivers contact form messages to our inbox and screener lists you ask us to email

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

5. Third-Party Services and Links

• Video. Our explainer video plays through Vimeo, only after you press play, with Vimeo’s do-not-track setting turned on.
• Maps and outside sites. Address links open Google Maps, and some links go to va.gov and other sites. Once you leave our site, that site’s privacy policy applies.

6. Directory Listings

The home care agency and VA-accredited representative directories are built from public government records: the federal National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs accreditation roster. They contain business contact information that those agencies publish.

If you are listed and something is wrong, use “Report a problem” on your listing or contact us. Because listings are refreshed from those records, updating your information at the source is the most lasting fix.

7. Security and Retention

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and restricted database access. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, medical records, or VA claim documents through the site. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

8. Your Choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@homecareforveterans.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and won’t treat you differently for asking.

9. Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes and Contact
